A daily deduction game

Letra Secreta (Spanish for “secret letter”) is a word game: every day there is a secret 5-letter word and you have 8 tries to find it. Unlike other word games, letters are never colored for you: you only see how many are in the right spot, how many are elsewhere and how many are not in the word. The rest is pure deduction.

How to play

Guess the secret 5-letter word in 8 tries. There is a new word every day.

After each guess you will see three numbers:

  • 1 letters in the right spot
  • 1 letters in the word, but in another spot
  • 1 letters not in the word

The game never tells you which letters they are: that's for you to deduce!

BEARS131

The secret word is BREAD. In BEARS there is 1 letter in place (the B), 3 elsewhere (E, A, R) and 1 not in the word (the S).

Tap the letters of your guesses to mark them (🟥 → 🟨 → 🟩) and keep track of your deductions.

Use the _ key to leave tiles blank and sketch ideas (e.g. _O__N): it never costs a try. Letters you mark green show up as a guide in the row you're typing.

Only letters A–Z. Every guess must be a valid English word.
